Ensuring a sustainable and prosperous convenience industry in Scotland

Scottish Grocer’s Federation is delighted to announce a new partnership with Cobbs Bakery a truly Highland company which has grown rapidly from their original acquisition of a farmhouse bakery in 2002.

Cobbs Cakes are hand-baked to traditional recipes in the Highlands of Scotland. Their range of wholesale products offer something for everyone from round cutting cakes, traybakes and muffins to shortbread, cupcakes and biscuits. Cobbs also have gluten-free and vegan options perfectly blending tradition with the needs of modern consumers.

While still based in the Loch Ness-side village of Drumnadrochit Cobbs distribute their home-baked cakes throughout Scotland and the North of England. Cobbs wholesale Bakery is part of the Cobbs Group whose portfolio also includes hotels, restaurants, coffee houses, and gift shops.

SGF chief executive Pete Cheema said: “We are delighted to welcome Cobbs Bakery into the Federation. Customers now more than ever want choice, quality and a tailored food offering which appeals to them. The wide range of hand-made bakery products made by the bakers and decorators at Cobbs is sure to appeal to customers throughout the convenience sector. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”

Business Development Director William Cameron said: “As the founding Director and now Business Development Director of Cobbs I and the company are delighted to be joining forces with SGF. It has always been our policy to both join with and develop collaborative partnerships and from past experience nearly all have both enhanced our business and contributed to our fellow partners. I am sure the same ethos will be adopted with SGF.”
