SGF is the authoritative voice for the independent convenience store industry in Scotland. There are over 5,300 convenience stores in Scotland. Membership includes all the major symbol groups and Co-ops operating in Scotland: Bestway, Booker Premier, Clydebank Co-op, Costcutter, Keystore, Londis, McColl's, Scotmid and the Scottish Co-operative, SPAR Scotland (CJ Lang), United Wholesale Grocers (Shopsmart), United Wholesale Scotland as well as a number of independent retailers. In 2017 membership increased further with the addition of the One Stop franchise: a reflection of the very dynamic nature of the convenience store industry in Scotland
We have also expanded our membership into forecourt retailing with Certas Energy now being a member of SGF.

A key aim of SGF is to connect retailers with key suppliers and our wider stakeholders. We do this through our regular events and members communications. We aim to ensure all our events are FREE for retailers.
