Crime affects all retailers. However, crimes in convenience stores not only cost retailers money but also have a negative effect on the community, causing fear and distress to both shop staff and residents. Shop crime should be at the heart of the Government’s anti-social behaviour programme.
The Scottish Business Crime Centre has produced a Violence Reduction Handbook which offers practical advice in reducing crime risk within a retail environment.
