SGF Annual Conference 2013

Conference will take place on Thursday 10th October 2013 at the prestigious Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh.

This will be the first of our new look one-day conference and we have put together a first class programme to match the new format. The day will be chaired by TV and radio personality Kaye Adams, and we will hold our very own ‘Call Kaye’ session, debating the key issues affecting our sector:

q  Is Scotland being turned into a ‘Nanny State’ by increased government legislation, and

q  How is the constant plague of crime perpetrated against our members affecting their businesses.

Our expert panel includes Donald Henderson, Head of Public Health Policy,  the Scottish Government; Dr. Colette Backwell, Director of Scottish Food and Drink; Gary Ritchie, Assistant Director with the Scottish Business Crime Centre; Jim McFedries, Head of Profit Protection at Scotmid and our very own Chief Executive, John Drummond.

We have an excellent line up of speakers during the day: Darcy Willson-Rymer, the CEO of Costcutter Supermarkets; Philippe Rondepierre, Head of Marketing with SPAR UK, Jim McCarthy, CE of Poundland and Prof. Leigh Sparks of Stirling University.

Our keynote speaker for the day will be Martin Glenn, recently appointed CEO of United Biscuits who has in the past led companies such as Pepsico UK and Birds Eye.
