Retail Membership
SGF is the authoritative voice for the Scottish convenience trade to both policy makers and the media with almost 2,000 convenience stores in membership, including groups such as SPAR Scotland, Booker Premier, Keystore, Costcutter, McColl's, Scotmid, Clydebank Co-op and the Scottish Co-operative, as well as a number of independent retailers.
SGF works with its members and a wide range of stakeholders to exchange insight on policy areas in order to maintain a strong reputation and profile for the small and medium sized shop sector, influence public policy and find common ground with stakeholders so ensuring the convenience store sector's ability to continue to operate successfully.
Our central aim is to work with policy makers and decision takers in order to help deliver policies that create the right trading environment for all involved in our industry. This in turn will allow the convenience store sector to prosper and deliver growth within the Scottish economy through investment and job creation.
One voice
SGF members are part of a unified retail voice and it is this togetherness which is fundamental to our influence and impact. By coming together under the SGF umbrella our members can use their collective weight to bring about change and shape the policy framework within which the sector operates.
Engaging with policy makers
Membership of SGF allows retailers to more effectively share their views with elected representatives at the local, Holyrood and Westminster levels.
Raising the profile of the sector

Responsible retailing
SGF works tireleslly to promote responsible community retailing not just with retailers but also with elected representatives, the Scottish Government and the media.
Networking
