SGF is the authoritative voice for the Scottish convenience trade to both policy makers and the media. There are over 5,300 convenience stores in Scotland. SGF membership includes SPAR Scotland, Booker Premier, Keystore, Costcutter, McColl's Clydebank Co-op and the Scottish Co-operative, United Wholesale Scotland, United Wholesale Grocery and Bestway as well as independent retailers. In 2017 membership was expanded to include the One stop Franchise and forecourt retail through Certas Energy. SGF works with its members and a wide range of stakeholders to exchange insight on policy areas in order to maintain a strong reputation and profile for the small and medium sized shop sector, influence public policy and find common ground with these stakeholders so ensuring the convenience store sector's ability to continue to operate successfully.
Our central aim is to work with policy makers and decision takers in order to help deliver policies that create the right trading environment for all involved in our industry; to allow the convenience store sector to prosper and deliver growth within the Scottish economy through investment and job creation.
We bring together retailers and suppliers, in a single and united body. By protecting our convenience retailers we are, in turn, protecting the supply market. Supplier companies can signal their support for the industry in Scotland and ensure it thrives in today's current economic climate by becoming members of SGF.
Becoming part of the SGF group couldn't be simpler. We have four packages - Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze - available to suit varying sizes of companies.
